/ Terms of use ยท Effective October 12, 2026

The fine print, kept short.

The short version: your license to use Slashie is Apple's Standard EULA. These terms add a few things it doesn't say. Slashie is not tax advice. It detects and measures drives automatically, so check your log before you file. Slashie Pro is billed, renewed and refunded by Apple.

/01

Who we are

Slashie is made by Little Lumen Labs LLC ("we", "us"). These terms cover the Slashie app for iPhone, Slashie for Mac and this website. By using Slashie you agree to them.

/02

Your license

Slashie is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to it.

/03

Not tax advice

Slashie keeps a mileage log and multiplies miles by mileage rates. It does not know your tax situation and does not give tax, legal or accounting advice. Totals and "deduction" figures in the app and its reports are estimates, not a promise of what you can claim. What you can deduct, and what records you need, is between you, your tax professional and your tax authority. Slashie is not affiliated with the IRS.

/04

Your mileage log is yours to check

Slashie detects drives with your iPhone's location, motion and Bluetooth, and sorts them into slashes by rules you set and your calendar. Phones miss things: a drive can be missed, cut short, measured long or short, or sorted into the wrong slash. Review your drives, their slashes and their purposes before you use them in a tax return or a reimbursement claim. You are responsible for the accuracy of the records you submit.

/05

Mileage rates

Slashie includes the IRS standard mileage rates it knows of. For a year it doesn't know, it uses rates you enter, or estimates from the latest known year and labels them "estimated" in the app and in reports. Confirm the rates for each year in Settings โ†’ Mileage rates before relying on the totals.

Slashie Pro

Slashie Pro is sold through Apple's App Store as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple takes the payment, renews subscriptions automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and handles cancellations and refunds; manage them in your Apple Account settings. A free trial, where offered, becomes a paid subscription at its end unless you cancel before then. Prices and trial terms are shown in the app before you buy. Slashie Pro can be shared through Apple's Family Sharing, on Apple's terms.

"Lifetime" means for as long as we offer Slashie on the App Store. On iPhone, tracking your drives, your log and the flat CSV export of all drives stay free; Slashie for Mac is part of Slashie Pro.

/07

Your data

Your drives stay on your devices and in your private iCloud, as the privacy policy describes. We have no copy, so we can't recover data that is deleted or lost. Export your reports regularly, and keep copies of the ones you need.

/08

Using Slashie safely

Slashie works in the background, so you never need to touch it while driving. Don't. Use it lawfully, and only to record drives you are entitled to record.

/09

Changes

We may add, change or remove features, including adding online services. A new service may come with its own terms, which we will show you before you use it. When these terms change, we will update the effective date above, and note significant changes in the app's release notes. Using Slashie after a change means you accept the new terms.

/10

Warranty and liability

Slashie is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will detect, measure or sort every drive correctly, and we are not liable for taxes, penalties, interest, lost deductions or reimbursements, or other losses arising from your use of it. The warranty and liability terms of the Standard EULA also apply. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can't be waived.
