Stuck? Write to us.

Email support@getslashie.com and a person reads it. The answers below cover what we are asked most.

Contact

Email support@getslashie.com, or use Settings → About → Contact Support in the app. Say what happened and roughly when. We can't see your drives, so the more you tell us, the faster we can help.

Slashie is made by Little Lumen Labs LLC.

A drive is missing

Slashie finds drives with your iPhone's sensors, so it needs three permissions in iOS Settings → Apps → Slashie: Location set to Always with Precise Location on, Motion & Fitness on, and Bluetooth on if you added your car under Settings → Vehicles.

If those are right and a drive is still missing, open Settings → Support → Diagnostics and tap Report a missed drive. To let us look into it, tap Send diagnostics there and share the file with us by email. It holds your drives from the last 30 days with their full routes, start and end addresses and notes, two weeks of the app's events, and a summary of the app and its permissions. It only leaves your iPhone when you share it, and you choose who gets it. The privacy policy lists everything in it.

You can always record a drive yourself with Start drive on the dashboard.

Sorting drives

A drive without a job waits in the Inbox. Swipe right to accept the suggestion, left for Personal, or tap the drive to pick a slash. Every choice can be undone. Review by day walks through a backlog one day at a time.

Slashie sorts automatically from what you set up: places you tagged for a job (Settings → Addresses), calendars and keywords for each slash (Settings → Calendar and Settings → Slashes), and your home base, which sends the drive home to the same job as the drive before it.

If one drive covered two jobs, open it and split it where you stopped.

In the car, Slashie is a CarPlay app: open it on the car's screen to see the drive in progress and the drives waiting to be sorted, tap one and choose the job. Drives sorted in the car stay listed with their job for the rest of the drive, so a wrong tap is fixed with another.

Reports and exports

Settings → Export Reports builds a PDF or CSV mileage log for one slash or all of them, for any period. Settings → Tax Time shows a year at a glance and exports it. Both are part of Slashie Pro.

Settings → Data → Export all drives (CSV) is free: one plain file with every drive.

Rates are the IRS standard mileage rates. When a new year's rate isn't in the app yet, enter it under Settings → Mileage rates. Slashie is not tax advice; ask your accountant what you can claim.

Slashie Pro and billing

Tracking is free, with no cap. Slashie Pro adds automatic sorting after your first 20 drives, the PDF and CSV reports, and Slashie for Mac.

Restore a purchase: Settings → Slashie Pro → Restore purchases, signed in to the Apple Account that bought it.

Family Sharing: every plan can be shared with up to five other people in your Family Sharing group. Each person keeps their own drives, slashes and reports in their own iCloud; nothing is shared but Pro. Pro reaches your family while you share purchases and subscriptions with them (iOS Settings → Family); if it hasn't arrived after a few minutes, tap Restore purchases on their iPhone. Only the person who bought it can cancel or change the plan.

Cancel or change a subscription: Settings → Slashie Pro → Manage subscription, or iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel at least a day before the renewal date; you keep Pro until the period ends, and your drives and tracking stay either way.

Refunds are handled by Apple, which takes the payment: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

iCloud sync

Your drives are stored on your iPhone and sync through your own private iCloud. For sync to work, sign in to iCloud in iOS Settings and keep iCloud on for Slashie. A new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account gets your drives back after you install Slashie; large histories can take a while to arrive. Slashie for Mac gets them the same way: sign in to iCloud on the Mac, in System Settings, with the same Apple Account.

Your data

There is no account and nothing is sent to us. Settings → Data → Delete All Data removes every drive, vehicle, place and slash from your iPhone, and the iCloud copies on the next sync, resets Slashie's settings on that iPhone and starts again from setup. The privacy policy has the details.
