Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 3, 2026

The short version: Slashie has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads and no servers of ours. Your drives are stored on your iPhone and sync only through your own private iCloud database, which we cannot read. Slashie reads your calendar on this iPhone to work out which job each drive was for. Event titles are saved only with matching drives in your private iCloud; event addresses are looked up with Apple Maps. Nothing is sent to us.

1. Who we are

Slashie is made by Little Lumen Labs LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Slashie app for iPhone and this website.

2. What we collect

Nothing reaches us. We run no backend, so we have no copy of your trips, vehicles, places, slashes or calendar. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and it does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.

3. Where your data lives

Everything the app records is stored on your iPhone: trips and their GPS routes, start and end addresses, slashes, hubs and home base, vehicles, preferences and diagnostics. If iCloud is on for your Apple Account, it syncs through your private CloudKit database. That database belongs to your Apple Account, and Apple stores it under the Apple Privacy Policy. Developers, including us, cannot read private databases.

4. Location

With "Always" permission, Slashie uses precise location to detect drives in the background and to record each route. Two Apple services receive coordinates so the app can work: Apple Maps, which snaps routes to roads and estimates distance, and Apple's geocoder, which turns start and end points into addresses. Both are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not by us. Location data is never used for advertising and never shared with anyone else.

5. Motion & fitness

Slashie reads your iPhone's motion activity (driving, walking, stationary) to tell when a drive starts and stops. This classification happens on the device, and the readings are not stored beyond what each trip's diagnostics record.

6. Bluetooth

Slashie scans for your car's Bluetooth so it knows when you get in. It stores only the identifiers and advertised services of the devices you choose as vehicles. These stay on your iPhone and in your private iCloud, like the rest of your data.

7. Calendar

If you connect a calendar, Slashie asks for read access and checks event titles, times and locations on your iPhone against the end of each drive. Nothing is sent to us, and Slashie never creates, changes or deletes events.

Two things are stored. When a drive matches an event, the trip keeps a small copy of that match (event title, start and end time, location text and calendar identifier), so your mileage log can show the business purpose. That copy syncs with the trip through your private iCloud. When an event has an address but no map coordinates, its location text (never the title) is sent to Apple Maps (Apple's geocoder) to find the spot, and the result is cached on your iPhone.

You can disconnect at any time in Settings → Calendar, or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

8. Notifications

The trip reminders and the weekly digest are local notifications, scheduled on your iPhone. iCloud sync uses silent push notifications from Apple to learn about changes made on your other devices.

9. Diagnostics and feedback

Slashie keeps a diagnostics journal on your iPhone (app events, detection decisions, tracking health) to help find missed drives. It only leaves your iPhone when you tap Send diagnostics and choose where to share it. The bundle may include trip routes and times, so send it only to people you trust. Crash and performance reports that you allow Apple to share with developers reach us through Apple and contain no trip data.

10. Exports

The PDF and CSV mileage logs are created on your iPhone. Where they go is up to you, through the share sheet.

11. Deleting your data

You can delete any trip in the app. To remove everything, delete Slashie from your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy, go to iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Slashie. Since we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

12. This website

This site is a static page served from Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront). It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from this site. AWS processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the pages and may keep them in logs for security, as described in the AWS Privacy Notice.

13. Children

Slashie is a tool for working adults and is not directed at children under 13.

14. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
